James Darryl Parker

James Darryl Parker, 77, of Asheville, died on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Stonecreek Health and Rehab. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mildred Smith Parker. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Erwin and Debra Hensley and brother, Joseph Eugene Parker.

He was an avid fisherman.

Survivors include his daughter, Darlene Graves of Indiana; two sons, Jonathan Parker and his wife, Marie of Burnsville and James Darryl Parker, Jr. of Candler; three brothers, John Parker, Ronald Parker and Ricky Parker; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Fairmont Baptist Church, 36 Surrett Road, Candler, NC.  Rev. David Hall will officiate.

The care of Mr. Parker has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
