James Davis

James "Doc" Davis Canton - James Arthur "Doc" Davis, age 74, of 71 Wesley Street died Sunday, June 18, 2006, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Haywood County and the son of the late Robert C. and Lula Roberts Davis. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jessie Jack Davis. He retired from Champion International with 35 years of service and was a member of Canton First United Methodist Church. He was a United States Navy veteran. In addition to his wife of 55 years, Dot Hawkins Davis, he is survived by a son, Michael James Davis of Canton; a sister, Faye Woodfin of Gramling, SC and three nephews, Jim D. Woodfin, Bruce Woodfin and his wife, Kattie, and Edgar Woodfin and his wife, Cynthia, all of Gramling, SC. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at Canton First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Brian Cornell officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery.
