Canton, James Fraizer "Jim" King, 65, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Charles Fraizer King and Virginia "Beth" Evans Shelton. He is also preceded in death by his sister Nora Paulette Shelton and nephew James A. "Tony" Scarboro. He served our country in the U.S. Army and retired as a construction foreman. Surviving are his loving sisters, Carolyn Shelton Grooms (Paul) and Louise Shelton Bennett (Don); nieces, Amy Russell Presnell of Waynesville and Paula A. Russell of Sarasota, Florida; great nieces, Elizabeth P. Bonham, Jordan C. Presnell, and Devon A. Scarboro; a special cousin, Barbara King Cabe; and his special miniature Chihuahua, Shay. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, at the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. The family will receive friends at 11:30 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SARGE's Animal Rescue Foundation, P.O. Box 854, Waynesville, NC 28786.
