James Roy Gaddy, age 66, of the Dutch Cove Community died Thursday, October 26, 2006, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the son of the late Keller and Lola Medford Gaddy. He retired from Champion International in 2004 with 44 years of service as a boiler operator. Jim was a member of Dutch Cove Baptist Church. Jim spent a lifetime farming and raising cattle. He enjoyed traveling, Southern gospel singing and spending time with his grandchildren. He had a special place in his heart for his faithful companion and oldest grandson, Seth. In addition to his wife of 41 years, Louise Reed Gaddy, he is survived by a daughter, Sharon Trantham and her husband, Randy, of Canton; two sons, Anthony Gaddy and his wife, Angie, of Bethel and Brian Gaddy and his wife, Tanya, of Canton; three sisters Jacqualine Hyde and her husband, Roy; Patsy Reynolds and her husband, Bill, and Janie DeWeese all of Canton; a brother, David Gaddy and his wife, Loretta, of Canton; and six grandchildren, Seth, Elisabeth, Hannah, Emily, Ethan, and Sidney. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2006, at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Roy Houston and Reverend. Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
