James Edward "Eddie" Gibson, age 60, of Laurel Drive died Thursday, April 26, 2007 at Memorial Mission Hospital.<br><br>He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the son of the late Noveline Haney Gibson. He was employed with Asplundh Tree Company as a foreman for 22 years. Eddie coached Little League baseball for 30 years. He loved fishing, racing slot cars, and spending time with his family.<br><br>He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Mary Leming Gibson; a daughter, Lisa Willis and her husband, Jodie, of Canton; five sons, Duane Gibson of Canton, Eddie Gibson of Clyde, Miles Gibson of Canton, Jeremy Worley and his wife, Carla, of Waynesville and Bryan Worley and his wife, Chastity, of LaGrange, GA; his father; Reverend James E. "Bud" Gibson and his wife, Gwyneth, of Maggie Valley; a sister, Barbara Ledford of Canton; a brother, Tony Gibson of Canton; and eight grandchildren.<br><br>Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Ronnie Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbeares will be Steve Musser, Ryan Cermak, Tom Dancy, Mark Osteen, Brad and Ryan Rathbone, Bill Campbell, Scott Holcombe, Chris Moody, and Mike Chambers.
