James Glance

Clyde-James Carroll Glance, age 88, of 517 Glance Cove Road, died on Friday, November 30, 2007 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of Ralph and Maggie Garrett Glance. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Stevenson Glance, who died on November 17, 2007; and three brothers, George, Fred, and John Glance. He was a farmer and a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. He is survived by two sons, Calvin Gene Glance and his wife, Margaret, of Winston-Salem and Bill Glance and his wife, Teresa, of the Crabtree Community; one sister, Eula Dee Ackerly, of Florida; four grandchildren, Jim Glance and his wife, Aleasa, Bryan Glance and his wife, Lisa, Michael Glance, of Crabtree and Kimberly Reams and her husband, Murray of Winston-Salem; six great-grandchildren, Ashton, Shelby, Grace and Grady Glance and Samuel and Emmy Reams and special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2007 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Charlie Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Upper Crabtree Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Jim, Mike, and Bryan Glance, Murray and Samuel Reams, Ray James, and Charles Clark, Jr. Memorials may be made to Rock Springs Baptist Church, 2554 Liner Creek Road, Clyde, NC 28721.
