Robbinsville, James Lewis Hannah, age 59, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital. A native of McDowell County, he was the son of the late Floyd Jackson and Lula Mae Jenkins Hannah. He was also preceded in death by his son, James Robert Hannah and two brothers. James, from a very early age loved the outdoors. His life's work consisted of logging and woodcutting all over the mountains. If he wasn't cutting wood, he was outdoors fishing. James was a loving husband, father and pawpaw. James is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judy Hannah; one daughter, Jamie Bird, and her husband, Sam, of Cherokee; one son, Odis Lewis Hannah, of Waynesville; a step-son, Jason Hendricks, of Robbinsville; one sister, Bonnie Nichols, of Robbinsville; one grandchild, Jodie "Beak" Bird; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2016 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Davis Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Waynesville is in charge of arrangements.
