James Brown

Waynesville- James Henry "Jimmy" Brown died Sunday, November 12, 2006 in Nevada. He was a native and life-long resident of Haywood County and a son of Virgil and Novella Mae Clark Brown of Canton. He was previously married to the former Anita Wood for 34 years. Jimmy served the Lord in many capacities, his heart was to help others in any way possible. He was the owner and operator of Brown Enterprises for the past 32 years. Cleaning was his daily routine. He sponsored and played in "Brown Enterprise and "Brown & Vance" softball leagues. Softball was his life's passion. His family was very important to him, as well as his friends. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one daughter, Stephanie Renee Brown of Asheville; one son, Jason Lee Brown and his wife, Elizabeth, of Canton; two sisters, Brenda Singleton of Canton and Linda Craig of Candler; one brother, Kevin Brown of Clyde; eight grandchildren, Shakor, Julia and Zade Brown, Judson Butler, Drake and Megan Brown, Halle Carey and Bradyn Lofty and companion, Durenda Bradley. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2006 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Reverend Dr. Frank Harvey and Reverend Jerry Parks officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
