Waynesville-James Cecil ''Jim'' Jennings, Jr., age 60, of 420 Killian Street, died Sunday, October 5, 2003 at the Brian Center.
A native of Haywood County, he attended Waynesville Township High School and was a US Navy veteran. Belks Department Store as a sales clerk later employed him for 25 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Waynesville Junior Civitan Club and the Hazelwood Lions Club. He enjoyed coin collecting.
He is survived by his parents, J. C. and Joanna Jennings of Waynesville; three brothers, Tom Jennings, and his wife, Cathy, of Hendersonville, Terry Jennings and his wife, Lisa, of Hickory, NC and Gary Joe Jennings and his wife, Doris, of Rock Hill, SC; two nieces and 2 nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 8, 2003 with Reverend Dr. W. Lyn Sorrells and Reverend John Christy officiating. Interment will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service.
