James Jones, Jr.

James Horace Jones, Jr., age 86, died Saturday, September 29, 2007, at the VA Medical Center. He was the son of the late James Horace and Jesse Fulbright Jones, Sr. and was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Elizabeth McFall Jones, who died in 1984. He was retired from the United States Navy, having served in World War II and Korea, and was a member of Finchers Chapel United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 21 ½ years, Alma J. Jones; 3 daughters, Sarah Ellen Clark and her husband, Robert Ray, of Waynesville, Paula Carolyn White and her husband, Richard, of Clyde and Lynn Etherton and her husband, Dewey, of Leicester; a stepson, Robert Willis and his wife, Terry, of Clyde; a sister, Willa Mae Enloe of Duluth, GA; 2 brothers, Gilbert Jones of Greenville, SC and Ralph Jones of Shawnee, OK; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Finchers Chapel United Methodist Church with the Reverend Kitty Crain officiating. Burial will follow at Finchers Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 1, 2007, at Wells Funeral Home in Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Finchers Chapel United Methodist Church, 2883 Hyder Mountain Rd., Clyde, NC 28721
