James Ernest Justice

Clyde, James Ernest Justice, 66, died on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Autumn Care of Waynesville.

A native of Haywood County, James was the son of the late Ernest and Mary Magdaline Haney Justice.  He is also preceded in death by a brother, Gary Justice, who passed away in November 2023.

Throughout his life, James had various jobs including milking cattle, driving dump trucks and helping cut tobacco.  He was a hard worker and passed that trait to each of his kids.  He also had various hobbies and interests through the years including hunting, showing horses, and attending cattle shows with his kids through the Haywood County Livestock Club.  He loved listening to bluegrass music, specifically Dailey and Vincent, however, above all, he loved farming and raising cattle and that is what most will remember him by.

James leaves behind a legacy of love and perseverance.  He is survived by his daughter, Lucinda Justice, who will forever hold her father's memory close to her heart.  Additionally, he leaves behind his sons, Captain Kevin Justice (Wendy) and their four sons, and Brian Justice (Corene) and their son, William Justice.  James is also survived by his sister, June Milner (Barry); brother, Charles Justice (Linda), and several nieces, nephews, and aunts.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2024 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Ferguson officiating.  Burial will follow at Crabtree Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

The care of Mr. Justice has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
