James Moore

Waynesville-James Herman Moore, Sr., age 69, of 222 Southfork Road, died on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at the VA Medical Center. A native of Calhoun County, Arkansas, and had resided in Haywood County for the past 17 years. He was the son of the late Roy Moore and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Laws. He was a US Army veteran, co-owner of Moore's Mountain Real Estate, and was previously employed as a sales manager with Borden's Dairy. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elwanda Moore; one daughter, Elizabeth Evans and her husband, Mike, of Clyde; one son, James "Jim" Moore and his wife, Connie, of Waynesville; one brother, Bennie Wilson; one sister-in-law, Doris Helms; five grandchildren, Sarah Senter and her husband, Shaun, Laurie Green, and Art, Ashley, and Connor Moore; one nephew, Shawn Barrett and his wife, Sandra; two nieces, Jenny Caldwell and her husband, Leon, and Shannon Hughes; and one great nephew, Clayton Barrett. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 5, 2007 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Reverend Gene King officiating.
