James Morrow

February 22, 1934 — July 16, 2015

Waynesville, James Kermit Morrow, age 81, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the Homestead. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Carroll James and Velma Fincher Morrow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Morrow and nephew, Brian Morrow. James was a farmer and was a member of Long's Chapel United Methodist Church. He loved the outdoors and spending time working on his farm. James will be remembered for being a selfless caregiver to his family, especially his sisters. James is survived by a brother, Joe Morrow and his wife, Sue, of Waynesville; two sisters, Margaret and Elizabeth Morrow, also of Waynesville; an uncle, Kenneth Morrow and his wife, Carolyn, of Clyde; and several beloved cousins. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Rowland officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Thad Medford, Tommy Moore, Edson Jaynes, Mike Wyatt, Kenneth Morrow and Chris Miller. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crabtree United Methodist Church, 5405 Crabtree Road, Clyde, NC 28721.
