James Myers

Clyde, James Clifford "Jim" Myers, age 87, of Upper Crabtree Road, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2009 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. Jim was a native of Fostoria, Ohio, had previously resided in Florida and had lived in Haywood County for the past four years. He was the son of the late Clifford and Rosina Shondel Myers. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one sister, and two brothers. Jim was a US Air Force veteran serving in WWII and was a retired Bank Manager with Citi Corporation with 38 years service. He was an accomplished woodworker specializing in Intarsia woodworking. Jim was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Bonnie Myers; three daughters, Ann Guffey and her husband, Mike, of Ohio; Pam Morella and her husband, Bobby, of New Jersey; and Sherry Bosworth and her husband, Joe, of Ohio; one son, Guy Cox and his wife, Sue, of Clyde; one sister, Judy Kidd; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Reverend Katherine K. Crain officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Choir Fund, 1949 Upper Crabtree Road, Clyde, NC 28721.
