James Bobby Plemmons, age 74, of Dutch Cove Road died Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at Memorial Mission Hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the son of the late James Swann Plemmons and Eva Elizabeth Evans. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willene Morrow Plemmons who died in 2003; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Barbara Evans, Nell and Bud Phillips and a brother, Bill Plemmons. He was owner and operator of Bob's Auto Repair and attended Dutch Cove Baptist Church. Bob loved the outdoors. He enjoyed visiting friends at Walnut Point, at Lake Chatuge, gardening and raising his cattle. He is survived by a sister, Betty Johnson and her husband, Joyce; a brother, Clarence Plemmons, step-father, Joe Evans all of Canton. Also surviving, goddaughter, Camille Carter and her family and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2005 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services with the Reverend Ed Lowder officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon - 1:45 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the house of his sister, Betty Johnson, 2810 Dutch Cove Road. Pallbearers will be Tony Rhinehart, Wayne Wilson, Carroll Medford, Steve Hipps, Martin Carter and Worth Smathers. Honorary pallbearers will be W. C. "Plucky" Smathers, Lawrence Fore, Dee Hall, Jim Swafford, Carroll Wilson, Carroll Rickman and Buck Plemmons.
