Candler-James Robert Warren, age 86 of 76 Ginger Lane died Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at Memorial Mission Hospital.
He was a native of Abingdon, VA and lived most of his life in Haywood and Buncombe Counties. He was a son of the late James Monteville Warren and Rosa Watts Warren Henson. He was married to Virginia "Ginger" Early Warren who died in 2001. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melissa Warren and great-granddaughter, Megan Melo and 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He was a retired carpenter and was a member of Stoney Fork Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Warren was a United States Army Veteran serving during World War II.
He is survived by four daughters, Vivian Bryson and her husband Duane of Waynesville, Lillian Dellinger and her husband Bryan of Morganton, NC, Linda Revis and her husband, R. B. of Easley, SC, Brenda Scott and her husband, Randal of Candler, three sons, Dennis and Michael Joseph Warren, both of Candler and James Earl Warren and his wife Joyce of Waynesville, 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2004 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with Reverend Bennie Wade officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
