James Robertson

James Leroy "Dickie" Robertson, age 67, died Monday, November 3, 2008, at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was the son of Savannah Lusk Robertson and the late William G. "Slim" Robertson. He was employed with Bonitz Company for more than 20 years as a roofer. James loved watching NASCAR, football, baseball, and golf. He also enjoyed bowling and fishing. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to mow his lawn and burn leaves. His biggest dream was to win the Georgia lottery. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Tony D. Robertson and his wife, Samantha, of Fletcher; two daughters, Tammy Taylor of Enka and Loretta Bumgarner and her husband, Willie, of Asheville; two sisters, Wanda Haynes and her husband, Bud, and Jesse Hoglen both of Leicester; two brothers, Bill Robertson, and his wife, Velda, of Leicester and Ralph Robertson of Candler; five grandchildren, Daryl Robertson, Samantha Taylor, Jacob and James Bumgarner, and Brayden Robertson. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2008, at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Newfound Road with the Reverend Steve Harris officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
