James Burnette Rogers
Candler 'James Burnette Rogers, 84, died Friday, March 26, 2010 at St. Joseph Campus, Asheville.
A lifelong resident of Buncombe County , he was an avid gardener, and loved fishing and racing. He was owner of Roger's Welding in Asheville for over 30 years.
He was a son of the late Clarence and Bertha Roberts Rogers. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Gene Rogers.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Rogers, two daughters: Patsy Morrison and husband John of Charleston, SC, and Janice Cooper of Asheville, NC, one son: Michael Rogers of Candler, NC, two step-daughters: Angela Grogan and husband Mike of Sandy Mush, NC and Sharon Messer and husband Mike of Asheville, one step-son: Randy Fisher of Asheville, one brother: Harry Rogers and wife Patti of Redding, Ca., six grandchildren: Trip, Angela, Brett, Brian, Kevin and Justin, one great grandson, Isaac and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March, 29, 2010 Enka Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Brown officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM prior to the service at the church.
