James Shelton

Waynesville, James C. "Jimmy" Shelton, age 83, of Belle Mead Drive, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Maggie Valley Nursing Home. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Floyd and Iva Lee Sisk Shelton and was also preceded in death by his wife, Fannie McClure Shelton, who died in 2008. James was a retired carpenter. He is survived by two daughters, Suzan Chappell of Norlina and Betty Jean Green and husband, Eddie of Waynesville; a son, Floyd Cecil Shelton and wife, Jo, of Reidsville; grandson, Greg Shelton and wife, Carolyn; one sister, Bobbie Jean Kelley, of Clyde; 4 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Bobby Rogers and Reverend Barry Willett officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
