James Shoemaker

James Calvin Shoemaker, age 77, of Riverview Drive, died Saturday, September 2, 2006, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late William and Nola Parham Shoemaker. James loved to work in his garden and deer hunting. He was a member of Pigeon River Masonic Lodge 386 A.F. & A.M. and Snug Harbor. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Liner Shoemaker; three sons, Wayne Shoemaker and his wife, Sue, Tim Shoemaker and Joey Shoemaker and his wife, Christy, all of Canton; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2006, at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. prior at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. Memorials may be made to Haywood County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1275, Canton, NC 28716.
