James Thomason

Canton-James Alvin "Jim" Thomason, age 51, died Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Conover. He was a native of Haywood County and a daughter of Rachel Stamey Thomason of Canton and the late Wiley Carroll Thomason. He was also preceded in death by one brother Richard Kenneth Thomason who died in 2000. Mr. Thomason was a truck driver and was a United States Army Veteran serving in Germany. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 26 years, Claudia Cox Thomason of Claremont, NC, three daughters, Melanie Goble and Crystal Moore both of Claremont, NC, Kathleen Haney of Lima, OH, one son Michael Farley of Tillery, NC, one sister, Jo Ann Jones of Canton, three brothers, Lewis Thomason and Jerry Thomason both of Canton and Roger Thomason of Cashier, NC, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2004 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services with Reverend O. J. Skidmore and Reverend Tommy Gibson officiating.. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of the mother Rachel Stamey Thomason, 106 Williams Street, Canton, NC 28716. Memorials may be made to Morning Star Cemetery Assoc. Trust Fund, P.O.
