James Vincent

Maggie Valley, James H. "Jim" Vincent, age 70, died on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Memorial Mission Hospital. He was a native of Florida and lived most of his life in Miami and Broward Co., FL. He became a full-time resident of Maggie Valley in 2002. He was the son of the late James Harley and Lucile Mitchell Vincent and was also preceded in death by a brother John Vincent. Jim was employed by the Miami/Dade Co. FL Police Dept. as a deputy sheriff. He was well-known for his sense of humor; loved his family, cooking and restoring his "old truck". He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Brenda Vincent, one son, Jimmy Vincent and his wife Marian of Vero Beach, FL; one sister Sandra Stephans of Maggie Valley, NC and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nephews. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made in his name to Haywood Christian Ministries, 150 Branner Avenue, Waynesville, NC 28786 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, 7020 AC Skinner Pkwy, Suite 100, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
