Waynesville, James Marma Worthington, III, age 82, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at his summer residence. A native of Elyra, Ohio he was the son of the late James Marma and Elanor Piacenza Rohn Worthington. James had a passion for the sea. As a teenager he began sailing yachts, eventually achieving national champion and champion status in both short and long distance races. His love for sailing the East coast transferred to his children. Some of their fondest memories of James were sailing the ocean as a family. James was also an active parishioner of St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church. James is survived by the love of his life of 41 years, Gael Louro; two sons, Kimo Worthington, IV and his partner, Carol Nicoalu, of Portsmith, Rhode Island and William "Billy" Worthington, and his wife, Robyn McGowan, of Thousand Oaks, California; a sister, Caroline Worthington, and her husband, Alan Lapidus, of Naples, Maine; a brother, Jules Worthington, and his wife, Judi, of Chilmark, Massachusetts; three grandchildren, Parker, Emily and Lucy Worthington. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church with Father Richard Benonis and Father Brian Mahoney officiating.
