Maggie Valley, Jane Anne Raber Berrevoets, age 83, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at her residence.
A native of New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Gustave and Jane White Raber. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Berrevoets, of 60 years, who died August 16, 2021; brother, Larry Raber; and in-laws, Alida Adams (Joseph), Gertie Pearson (Walt), Dina Adams (Joseph), Grace Aretz (Duane), Cornelius Berrevoets (Mona), and Violet Schork, Lily Berrevoets.
Jane was a member of Maggie Valley United Methodist Church and was very active in the church. She on the Delanco Township School Board for eight years, was very active in the PTA and was a softball coach. Jane was a girl scout leader and enjoyed cooking and baking, loved going to the beach in the Jersey Shore and traveling.
Jane was a wonderful wife, amazing mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and aunt, and she will be dearly missed.
Jane is survived by a daughter, Dina Towey, and her husband, Tom, of Maggie Valley; son John Peter Berrevoets, of Berlin, New Jersey; two sisters, Linda Milsop, and her husband, Bill, of Berlin, New Jersey; brother, Robert Raber, and his wife, Claudia, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Sandie Raber, of Burlington, New Jersey; two grandsons, Jonathan and Michael Berrevoets, of Berlin, New Jersey; in-laws, Johanna "Honey" Stroher, of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Lena Leeds, of Millville, New Jersey; George Schork, of Blythewood, South Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Maggie Valley United Methodist Church, celebrating Jane and Johns life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maggie Valley United Methodist Church, 4192 Soco Road, Maggie Valley, NC 28751.
The care of Mrs. Berrevoets has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
