Clyde – Jane Case, 80, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2020.
Jane built her career in the grocery industry, working for Ingles and retiring from Fresh Market. She loved her work, but for Jane, family was everything. She believed in the power of hard work, perseverance and faith, and she helped instill those values in her three children, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, of whom she was incredibly proud. She was also a member of Clyde Wesleyan Church. Her family and friends often remarked on her infinite compassion for others and her sense of humor. She was a smart, strong, beautiful woman, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Zeb Henry Smith, and her mother, Frankie Teague Smith, both of Canton, and her daughter-in-law Lynette Messer Case, of Canton. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Ingle, of White Pine, Tennessee, her brothers, Michael Zeb Smith (Barbara Bishop), of Morristown, Tennessee, and Keith Smith (Tracy Elkin Smith), of Greensboro, and her children, Christa Darlene Case Hall, of Granite Falls, Tony Case, of Mount Holly, and Marcus Case, of Fletcher, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Eddie Clayton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of NC, 31 College Place, Suite D 103, Asheville, NC 28801.
