Janet Jenkins

July 31, 1916 — April 24, 2005

Maggie Valley - Janet Ann MacNichol Jenkins, age 88, died on Sunday, April 24, 2005 at Autumn Care of Waynesville. She was a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota and was the daughter of the late George and Dora Elizabeth Page MacNichol. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, George F. and William F. MacNichol. She was a homemaker and member of First Presbyterian Church in West Palm Beach, Florida. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Joseph Paul Jenkins, Jr. of Maggie Valley; two daughters, Beth Jenkins Allison and her husband Geoff of Waynesville and Joann Jenkins Lewis and her husband, Clyde, of West Palm Beach, Florida; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2005 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services with Reverend Brian Cagle officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael, Sean, and Kyle Markham, Josh Mashburn, Brian Slygh, and Jordan Pelfrey. Flowers are accepted and appreciated or memorials may be to Mountain Ark Ministries, 842 Red Maple Drive, Waynesville, NC 28785.
