Janet Jepsen

Janet Lynn Jepsen, lovingly known for her faithfulness as a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024, just shy of her 74th birthday. Born on December 7, 1950, in Jacksonville, Florida, Janet’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with kindness, creativity, and an enduring love for her family.

Janet was the cherished daughter of Henry Walthall Jr., who has preceded her in death. She is now reunited with him and her beloved grandson, Ethan Jepsen. A dedicated mother and grandmother, Janet's legacy of love continues through her surviving family. She leaves behind her daughter, Sarah Scibetta and her husband Biagio; her two sons, Benjamin Isaiah Jepsen and his wife Judite "Judy", and Michael David Jepsen. Janet was also a proud and loving grandmother to five grandchildren: Gianna, Lucia, and Mateo Scibetta; Hannah Jepsen; and Lilyanne Cicale.

An artist at heart, Janet had a passion for painting and exhibited her creative spirit through self-taught endeavors on the piano and guitar. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, from engaging in board games to cooking for family. Janet loved to laugh, had a fun sense of humor, and was a positive force in the lives of those around her. She was a fan of Duke basketball and Atlanta Braves baseball.

Her warmth and laughter will be deeply missed by those who knew her. To celebrate her life, a special service will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the Wells Chapel of Faith in North Carolina. Family and friends are invited to gather at 2:00 PM to honor and remember a remarkable woman whose life was characterized by her unwavering faith and love for her family.

Though Janet has departed from this world, her spirit and the joy she brought into the lives of others will be forever remembered. She touched many hearts, leaving behind memories that will live on in the laughter of her grandchildren and the stories shared by those fortunate enough to have known her.

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”  Ephesians 3:20-21

The care of Mrs. Jepsen has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
