Janice Plemmons

Canton – Janice Morris Plemmons, 69, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at her residence.

A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Dot Morris.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Ronald Plemmons, who died in 2006.

Janice was a 1971 graduate of Pisgah High School.  She loved dogs and reading.  Traveling to Cataloochee was always a special trip for her.

She is survived by a daughter, Veronica Holland (Ben) of Canton; a son, Andrew Plemmons (Carli) of Clyde; a sister, Darlene Shipman of Canton; a brother, James “Jim” Morris (Lisa) of Canton; and two grandchildren, Nicholas Barton and Bethany Tars (Bill).

A visitation of family and friends in memorium of Janice will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday April 28, 2023 at Wells Funeral Home in Canton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood County Animal Shelter, 453 Jones Cove Road, Clyde, NC  28721 or to Asheville Humane Society, 14 Forever Friend Lane, Asheville, NC  28806.
