Jean Cole

Canton – Jean Mae Scott Cole, 91, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at her daughter’s residence in Rogersville, Alabama.

Jean was a native of Buncombe County and a daughter of the late Irvin Washington and Maude Jane Roberts Scott.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Gene Perry Cole, who died in 2019.  Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a member of Rocky Face Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna Cole Heatherly and husband, Wayne, of Rogersville, Alabama; a son, Perry Lynn Cole of Canton; six grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Rocky Face Baptist Church with the Reverend Donnie Henson officiating.  Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Newfound Road.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
