Jean Lowe

Waynesville, Jean Parton Lowe, age 85, of 1312 Crabtree Road, died Friday, September 25, 2009 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Coleman and Ida Moody Parton. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert D. Lowe, Jr., two brothers, Marvin and Ishmal Parton, and two sisters, Alma Caldwell and Dorothy Harriger. She retired from Dayco Rubber as an inspector with over 30 years of service. Jean was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 62 years; Robert D. Lowe; two sisters, Bessie Sutton of Lenoir, NC; Ruby Rogers (Darrell) of Waynesville; two grandchildren, Angela Jenkins (Chuck) and Chris Lowe; three great-grandchildren, Blake Jenkins and Megan and Trent Lowe. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2009 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with Reverend Ronald Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Neil and Darrell Dean Rogers, Blake Jenkins, Bill Lynch, Tommy Mooney, Bruce Corzine, and Chris and Trent Lowe. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
