Jean Morgan

Geneviev "Jean" Henderson Morgan, age 73, of 106 Walnut Ridge died Saturday, March 18, 2006 at her residence. She was a native of Haywood County and the daughter of the late R. T. and Celia Shipman Henderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Morgan, who died in 1986; two sisters, Doris Clark and Margaret Ruth; two brothers, Bud and Dennis Henderson and a granddaughter, Brandi Pace. Jean enjoyed going to Canton's Pickin' in the Park and exercising in the Senior Center with her friends. She was also a caregiver to numerous families. Jean had a special place in her heart for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by five daughters, Gloria Sheehan and her husband, Marvin, of Clyde, Lynn Staats and her husband, Michael, of Seattle, WA, Dawn Stiles and her husband, David, of Canton, Patricia Pressley and her husband, David, of Canton and Roberta Morgan and her husband, Gary Trull, of Waynesville; a son, Byron Harbin of Canton; a sister, Cathy Goodson, of Norfolk, VA; a brother, Curt Henderson and his wife, Naomi, of Canton; a cousin and lifelong friend, Becky Stamey, of Canton; nine grandchildren, Lori Pace Lytle, Todd Pace, Jason, Steve and Tom Staats, Aubrey Stiles, Brandon and Brieanna Pressley and Ashley Morgan Trull and four great-grandchildren, Destini Blalock, Braydon Pace and D.J. and Dominic Staats. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Pastor Dewayne Rathbone officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Enka. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:50 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice.
