Jeaneal "Mammie" Sutton Whitted
Canton - Jeaneal "Mammie" Sutton Whitted, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away on August 5, 2023, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was born on March 22, 1945, to Frank and Beulah Shetley Page in Haywood County.
Jeaneal had a fulfilling career as a Medical Assistant with Haywood Regional Medical Center before retiring in 2009. She dedicated many years of her life to serving others and was well-respected for her commitment and professionalism.
Outside of her professional life, Jeaneal had a deep love for nature and her pets. She began her life farming and discovered great joy in tending to her gardens and spending time camping with her family in Boomer Den, Tennessee. She was dedicated to the Lord and her church.
In addition to her passion for gardening, Jeaneal cherished the time spent with her family. She was a devoted wife to Edward Eugene Whitted until his passing in 1994. Together they made cherished memories while raising their two sons, Larry Eugene Whitted and Anthony Edward Whitted.
Jeaneal will be lovingly remembered by her surviving family members who include Larry Eugene Whitted and his wife Beverly of Canton; Anthony Edward Whitted and his wife Susan of Canton; one sister, Janice Ford of Waynesville; as well as five grandchildren: Chelsie Ashe (Aaron), Samantha Whitted, Colten Whitted (Savannah), Bailey Whitted, and Carson Whitted. Their lives have been forever enriched by the love and guidance she provided throughout the years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Sutton; mother Beulah Shetley Page; two sisters, Juanita Cook and Jackie Goodson; as well as infant twin daughters.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Plains Methodist Church with Reverend David Green, Reverend Tim Pullin, and Reverend Janice Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Newfound Road. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
The family kindly requests that donations be made in Jeaneal's memory to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741. These contributions will continue her legacy of selflessness and bring hope and support to those in need.
