Jeanette Lee

Waynesville, Jeanette Snelson "Toni" Lee, age 80 of 671 Brown Avenue, died on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at her residence. She was a native of Bryson City and had resided in Haywood County since 1956. "Toni" was the daughter of the late Ferd and Lucille Wilson Snelson and was also preceded in death by her husband, Tai Young Lee, who died in 1993; three sisters, Winifred and Bobbie Jean Snelson and Dorothy Price. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville where she was an active member of the Mary Circle of United Methodist Women. She was also a former member of the Waynesville Altrusa Club and an avid bridge player. She is survived by two sons, Rick Lee and his wife, Susan, of Chattanooga, TN and Michael T. Lee of Atlanta, GA; one grandson, Michael Tai Lee, of Charlotte; one sister, Ferdrica Gibbs, of Seattle, WA; and her beloved dog, Rudy. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at First United Methodist Church of Waynesville with Reverend Sanford L. Giles, Jr., Reverend Dr. Robert J. Ralls, and Reverend Kathleen M. Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Rob Breese, Steve Brown, Luis Quevedo, Shane Pope, John Barrett, and Hugh Tully. Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Foy, Glenn Brown, and Charlie Way. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
