Jeanne Draughn

Canton, Jeanne Gose Draughn, age 89, 1451 Country Club Drive, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Castlewood, Virginia, she had resided in Haywood County since 2008. Jeanne was the daughter of James Cowan and Lillian Fraley Gose and was also preceded in death by her husband, Ira Volney Draughn, who died in 1998 and a son, Phil Draughn. She was employed as a directory assistance operator for Bellsouth and AT&T, retiring in 1990. Jeanne loved her family, enjoyed her friends, especially her ladies bible study group. She enjoyed traveling all over the world, having visited almost every country and was a voracious reader. She attended Crestview Baptist Church and was a member of Victory Baptist Church in West Palm Beach, Florida. She is survived by three sons, Jim Draughn and wife, Norma, of Waynesville, David Draughn and wife, Cathy, of Edgewater, Florida, Ronald Draughn and wife, Donna, of West Palm Beach, Florida; two daughters, Patricia Draughn and husband, Terry Cook of Cottondale, Florida and Lisa Frohock and husband, Steve, of Canton; two sisters, Ellen Miller and Peggy Coveney, of West Palm Beach, Florida; three grandchildren, Michael Draughn and wife, Dawn, of West Palm Beach, Bryan Draughn of Clyde, and Amy Draughn Bates and husband, Evan, of Los Angeles; and two great-grandchildren, Craig and Stone Draughn. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Brick Baptist Church in Castlewood, Virginia.
