Jeffrey Scott

Canton - Jeffrey Lane Scott, 57, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at his residence.

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of Lois Carver Scott and the late Reverend Jack Millard Scott, Sr. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack M. Scott, Jr. Jeffrey was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church and enjoyed horseback riding.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Janet Burke and her husband, Jimmy, of Canton; three nephews, Brandon Allen (Mandy), Aaron Burke, and Blake Scott (Lacie); a great-niece, Avery Allen; and three great-nephews; Dakota Scott, Joseph Scott;, and Elijah "Eli" Allen.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2018 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Donnie Henson and Reverend Doug Worley officiating. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
