Jeffrey Welch

Waynesville-Jeffrey Scott Clontz Welch, age 34, of 11 Overlook Court, died Monday, July 14, 2003.

A native of Riverside County, California, he had resided most of his life in Haywood County. He was a 1987 graduate of Pisgah High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. He was the owner and operator of Four Star Convenience store in the Bethel Community.

He is survived by his parents, Tim and Jane Splitt Welch, of Waynesville; his birth parents, J.C. and Sandra Burnette Clontz of Canton; six sisters, Stephanie Strickland and her husband, Steve, Genevieve Bagley and her husband, Brian, and Natalie Welch, all of Waynesville, and Tanya Scott and her husband, Odel, Sharon Conard and Candace Rathbone and her husband, Shannon, all of Canton; one brother, Derek Welch, of Waynesville; grandparents, Mrs. Bennie Lee of Waynesville and Howard and Genevieve Splitt of Asheville; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2003 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dean Clontz officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
