Jencie DeWeese Owen

Jencie DeWeese Owen, 85, of Canton passed away on, Monday, July 8, 2024, at her residence. She was born on July7, 1939, in Haywood County, to the late Jesse Hilton and Velda Christopher DeWeese.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Chambers.

Jencie was known for her kind heart and love for her family. She dedicated her life to caring for others and creating beautiful memories with her loved ones. Her presence brought light and warmth to all those around her. A devout member of the High Street Baptist Church, Jencie found solace and strength in her faith, cherished the community within the church and found joy in worshiping alongside fellow believers. In her free time, Jencie could often be found cheering on Chase Elliot in NASCAR races or spending time with her family. Her hobbies reflected her spirited nature and passion for life.

Jencie will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her daughter Vicki Blankenship of Canton; son Derek Blankenship of Canton; brother Bob DeWeese (Teresa) of Cary, NC; grandsons, Jeremy Chambers, Charlie Blankenship, Pedro Blankenship; and great-grandson Griffin Chambers.

Jencie's legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. May she rest in peace, knowing she was deeply loved and will always be remembered fondly.
