Jennie Mills

Orange, Texas, Jennie Mae Huskey Mills, age 84, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017. Jennie was born in Ravensford, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late William Anderson and Vernia B. Huskey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Wayne Mills, who died in 1994. Jennie graduated from Bethel High School, and from Crandall Business School in Macon, Georgia. She worked for Dayco International and Champion Paper & Fiber Company. Jennie was an active member and faithfully sang in the choir at Little Cypress Baptist Church in Orange, Texas until her health prevented her from attending. She enjoyed playing tennis, traveling, and was a Red Cross volunteer. Jennie was also talented in needlecraft, and made many beautiful pieces, including a quilt that will be displayed at her memorial service. Jennie is survived by her son, Tony Mills (Fang-Ling Chen), of Katy, Texas; a daughter, Susan Mills Podrebarac (Gary), of Friendswood, Texas; two grandchildren, Kate and Paul Podrebarac, who brought her great joy; siblings, Rubye Harkins, Bill Huskey (Louise), all of Canton, Emma Sue Mashburn (J.L.), of Candler and Darrel Huskey (Vicki), of Concord, North Carolina. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2017 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Frazier officiating. Entombment will follow at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Little Cypress Baptist Church, 3274 Little Cypress Drive, Orange, Texas 77632.
