Jennifer Erwin

Jennifer Smith Erwin, age 53, of 143 Tom Erwin Drive formerly of Clayton Road in Arden died Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at Mountain Area Hospice Center. She was a native of Buncombe County and the daughter of the late Ira A. and Dora Denny Smith. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Terry M. Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ and attended Riverside Baptist Church. She was a 1970 graduate of A. C. Reynolds High School where she was involved as a banner girl, majorette, Vice-President, Treasurer and President of the French Club, Junior and Senior Committee, homeroom president, homecoming court, student council and band. In addition to her husband of 20 years, Ed Erwin, she is survived by a daughter, Gracie Erwin and a son, Greg Erwin both of the home; two brothers, Jeffrey W. Smith and Robin C. Smith both of Weaverville. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2005 at Riverside Baptist Church with the Reverend Mike Odom and Reverend Jack M. Daniell officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Erwin, David Hyde, Danny Sorrells, Ray McNeil, John Erwin, Ray Chambers and Lewis Sorrells. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Friday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
