Jenny Marie Gillespie

Jenny Marie “Sis” Gillespie, beloved mother, sister, daughter, and granddaughter, left this world on December 22, 2023, unexpectedly at 41.

Jenny was born on April 23, 1982, in Asheville, NC to Jeffrey Gillespie and Sherry Jenness Caldwell.  She was a lifelong resident of Leicester, NC and attended Erwin High School.  Jenny was a loving and compassionate person loved by all. She had a passion for her family, music, and animals.  She had a smile that would light up the room.

Jenny is survived by her four children, Janessa, Tristan, Aleah and Leland; mother, Sherry Jenness Caldwell; father, Jeffrey Gillespie; stepmother, Shelley Gillespie; brother, Lane Gillespie; maternal grandparents, Craig Caldwell and Kay Badimu; paternal grandparents, Paul and Judy Gillespie.  She is also survived by nieces, Taylor and Neveah Gillespie and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins that loved her dearly.  She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Calvin Sharp, Lucy Sharp, Terrell Caldwell, Helen Caldwell, Harold Riggins and Sybil Riggins

The family would like for everyone to join them in a celebration of Jenny's  life at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2023 at Zion Hill Church, 1008 Newfound Road.  Rev. Bobby Smith will officiate.

The care of Ms. Gillespie has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
