Jerry Bradley

Canton-Jerry William Bradley, age78, of 436 Henson Cove Road, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

He was a native of Jackson County and had lived most of his life in Haywood County. He was the son of the late Dock and Charlotte Roland Bradley and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Cragg, Edna Smith, two brothers, Garland E. Bradley and Dock Bradley, Jr. He retired from Champion International as a supervisor for #20 machine with 40 years of service. He was a member of Long's United Methodist Church. He was a member of Snug Harbor, past president of Canton Kiwanis Club, past commander of VFW Post 5198 and served seven years on the State VFW Color Guard. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving in World War II in the Pacific and the Atlantic.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Cooke Bradley, two sons, Mike and Steve Bradley, both of Hawaii, and one grandson, Scott Bradley of Fletcher.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2003 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with Reverend Michelle Chappell officiating. Burial will follow at Long's Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
