Jerry Hoglen

Crabtree Community, Jerry Edward Hoglen, age 78, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at his residence.

A native of Haywood County, he was the youngest son of the late Thomas Noble “T.N.” and Lucy Surrett Hoglen.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Katherine Hoglen; and two brothers, Arthur and Ernest Hoglen.

Jerry proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era in the Army.  He retired from Dayco and was a member of Crabtree Baptist Church.  Jerry enjoyed hunting, and he took excellent care of his mother until her death at age 101.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 16 years, Frances Joyce Hoglen; two nieces, Rhonda Justice and Ernestine Taveira; and two nephews, Terry and Marty Hoglen.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Crabtree Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Dennis Ruff officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crabtree Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 480 Crabtree Church Road, Clyde, NC 28721.
