Jerry Jones

Waynesville, Jerry Dewayne Jones, age 43, of Orion Davis Road, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at his home. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of late Julius and Edna Silvers Jones and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Danny and Tommy Jones. He worked at Jones Heating and Air Conditioning as a heating technician. Jerry loved spending time with his beautiful grandchildren and being outdoors fishing, camping and gardening. He is survived by his wife of eleven years, Joyce Jones; two sons, Jeremy Jones and William Phillips; three daughters, Christy Jones, Jennifer Gibson and her husband, Jason, and Sylvia Phillips; one sister, Angela Fowler; two sister-in-laws, Jenny and Barbara Jones; four brothers, Joe Jones and his wife, Jennifer, Talmadge Jones, Willie Jones and his wife, Jeanette, and Tim Jones; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a very special aunt and uncle, Doris Messer and Cecil Jones, all of Waynesville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2011 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Cameron Bolden and Reverend Phillip Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Buchanan Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be William Phillips, Larry Laughter, Gary Seay, Dewayne Jones, Shannon O'Riley, and Ed Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Gibson and Ricky Messer. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home and at other times, at the residence.
