Jerry Norman

Waynesville, Jerry Wayne Norman, Sr., age 64, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at John F. Keever Solace Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of Marion Norman of Hendersonville and the late Mary Frances Wright White and was also preceded in death by a twin son, Heath Wayne Norman. He was a self-employed electrician and was of the Baptist faith. Jerry had a special passion for MOPAR vehicles and restoring classic cars, his favorite being his restored 1934 Ford sedan. Jerry also had a special love for his family, whom he loved with all his heart. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 45 years, Betty Cooper Norman; one son, Jerry Wayne Norman, Jr. and his wife, Christy, of Waynesville; a daughter, Alisha Norman Cathey, and her husband, John, of Waynesville; three grandchildren, Addison Norman, Kenley Norman, and Connor Cathey; brother, Douglas Norman and his wife, Faye, of Crestview, Florida stepfather, James White and his wife, Linda, of Clyde; mother-in-law, Laura Gunter of Waynesville; sister-in-law, Martha Revis; brother-in-laws, James and Dewey Cooper; nieces and nephews, Cheri Riddle and Pamela Berman, Bobby Revis and his wife, Becky, Damita Camero, and many other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Atkinson and Reverend Dennis Queen officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to services at the funeral home and at other times, at the residence.
