Jerry Neil Suttles, Sr., age 67, of Painter Street left to be in God's care on September 24, 2009. A native of Haywood County, he was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Cleveland and Mary Grace Clark Suttles and two granddaughters, Natasha and Jessica. He retired from Champion International, in 2004, with 27 years of service and was a member of West Canton Baptist Church. Jerry was a United States Navy veteran and an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, golfing, and bowling. He is survived by his wife of ten years, Rose Marie Suttles; a son, Jerry Neil Suttles, Jr. and his wife, Kim, of Canton; two daughters, Debbie Shelton and her husband, David, of Canton and Lisa Parker of Canton; one sister, Jane Phillips and her husband, Boyd "Butch", of Canton; one brother, Billy Suttles of Nevada; eight grandchildren, Chelsea, Makaela, and Avery Suttles; Joshua, Jacob, Cole, and Carter Binkley, and Jacob Shelton; and many other loving family members. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2009, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Joe Steadman, Reverend George Holley, and Reverend Robert Ponder officiating. Burial will be at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
