Clyde, Jerry Dean Trantham, age 61, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Cauley and Gladys Ledford Trantham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Helen and Gerald and his wife, Phyllis, Trantham. He retired from Haywood County as a waste management driver. Jerry was an ordained minister and a member of Panther Creek Baptist Church. He served as a deacon for his church and will be remembered as a firm and flat-footed man of God. He touched many lives and made an impression on everyone he met. Jerry loved spending time with his family and enjoyed hunting and also camping at Wilkins Creek, his safe haven. Jerry is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marlene Trantham; two sisters, Margaret Hannah of Canton and Louise Trantham of Waynesville; two brothers, Joe Trantham and his wife, Ruth Ann, of South Carolina and Carroll Trantham and wife, Joyce, of Waynesville; nephews, Jordan, Kevin, Rodney, and Cody Trantham; niece, Donna Arrington and husband, Rick; great-nephews, Brandon Arrington, Tyler, Derek, and Ryan Trantham and Cayden Hannah; great-great-niece, Alyssa Trantham; and his special dog, Lacy. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2014 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Ronald Greene officiating.
