Jesse Mashburn

"1942 – 2015" Canton – Jesse Frank Mashburn, age 73, passed away Monday, April 27, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Hendersonville. A native of Swain County, he was a son of the late Wilburn and Louella Franks Mashburn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Messer Mashburn, who died in 2013; three sisters, Mary Alice Lee and two infant sisters, Azalee and Desa Magdeline Mashburn. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was the Owner/Operator of Mashburn Concrete and Mashburn Farms. He is survived by two sons, Harold Mashburn and his wife, Linda, and Roger Mashburn, all of Canton; five sisters, Mae Green of Waynesville, Mandelline Smith of Robbinsville, Joann Burnette, of Canton, Maxine Hill of Waynesville, and Roxie Burnette of Canton; one brother, Thomas Mashburn of Maggie Valley; six grandchildren, Will, Tesa, Cody, Tony, Daniel, and Brandon Mashburn; and one great-granddaughter, McKenna Brown. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Jack Holland and Reverend Harry Worley officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
