Jessie Justice, Jr.

Clyde, Jessie Ray "J.R." Justice, Jr., age 68, of 841 Wesley Creek Road, died on Sunday, November 08, 2009 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Jessie Ray Justice, Sr. and Hazel Kirkpatrick Justice. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Candler, McLean, Clyde, and Edward Justice and one sister, Faye Rogers. He worked for Champion Papers for 34 years as a machine operator. "J.R." loved to hunt and was especially fond of his coon dog, Molly. He was a member of Belmont Baptist Church and served on the Grounds Committee. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and for his work in the Fines Creek Community. He will be affectionately known as "The Mayor of Fines Creek." His grandchildren will especially miss him. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Betty Jenkins Justice; two daughters, Denise Henson and her husband, Ronnie, of Lancaster, SC and Stephanie Justice Chapman of Piedmont, SC; five sons, Darrin Justice and his wife, Jackie,, Kelvin Justice and his wife, Kim, and Jeremy Justice, all of the Fines Creek Community, Charles Justice and his wife, Sonja, of Piedmont, SC, and Steven Justice and his wife, Lisa, of Stratton, VA; five stepchildren; one sister, Cathleen Hipps; 3 brothers, William, David, and James Justice; 13 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Belmont Baptist Church with Reverend Kenny Banks, Reverend Jimmy Moore, and his son, Kelvin Justice, officiating. Burial will follow at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Stan Rathbone and Darrin, Charles, Steven, Kelvin, Jeremy, Dakota, and Dillon Justice. The family will receive friends from Noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the church. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
