Jessie King

February 3, 1926 — December 10, 2002

Waynesville-Jessie James King-76, died Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at Haywood Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was a son of the late Daniel N. and Inez Mae Sanford King. He was preceded in death by his 4 brothers, Lee, Wilburn, Walker and Smith King. Mr. King owned and operated King's Used Cars for several years.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Irene Smith King, two daughters and their husbands, Wilma King Henson and Wentfard of Clyde and Christy King McCracken and Michael of Clyde, two sons, Edward G. King of Ft. Meyers, FL, Burlin V. King of Waynesville, 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2002 at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Newfound Road with Reverend Tim Gibson and Reverend Bruce Cayton officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Friday at Wells Funeral Homes of Canton prior to the graveside service. At other times, the family will be at the home of Wilma Henson 96 King Road, Waynesville, NC 28786.
