Jessie Ledford

Canton – Jessie Sharp Ledford, 79, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

Jessie was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Wesley and Edna Garnes Sharp; In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Bertha Sharp Blaylock and husband, Roy; and a brother, Robert “Rob” Sharp and wife, Shirley.  Jessie Mae was a member of the Mountaineer Antique Auto Car Club and Crestview Baptist Church.  She loved traveling cross country with Christian Tours.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joe Ledford; her son, Dewayne Ledford and wife, Suzanne, of Canton; grandson, Greyson Ledford of Canton; her brother, Roy Sharp of Waynesville; and nephew, Scotty Blaylock of Canton.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Donnie Henson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fines Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1128 Max Patch Road, Clyde, NC  28772.
